Quantum Touch

You will see and feel the results from Quantum Touch ® immediately.  Bones will re-align, headaches disappear, and pain vanishes.  The body’s only mission is to be as healthy and dis-ease free at it can be.  It strives for this every second of every day.

By using Quantum Touch ®, the practitioner, through special breathing techniques and light touch, raises their life force energy vibration.  The client’s or healer’s own life force energy, or Chi, will automatically rise to match the vibration of the practitioners.  The higher the level goes the easier it is for the body to heal, and heal it will!  Whatever in the body that is misaligned will re-align, be it hips, spine, neck or occipital ridges.  If there is an infection in the body, the body’s own defences, now super charged, will attack and do its best to eradicate it.  All this take place while you are either standing sitting or lying down.  All that matters is that you are comfortable and in a safe position during the session.  If you are lying on a table, you remain fully clothed, and will be covered by a blanket to keep you warm and snugly.  I have had some clients who sleep through the entire session.  They awake feeling balanced and well.  Awake or asleep, your body’s life force energy will match the higher frequency of the practitioner and send that healing energy wherever it is needed.  Isn’t the body an amazing thing?!

A session can last anywhere from a few moments to hours; it all depends on what the healing body needs.

Ayurvedic Kansa Wand Anti-Aging Facial Treatment

A Kansa wand anti-aging facial treatment will help relax the muscles, reduce stress and tension, detox the skin, which is our biggest organ, and improve the complexion, bringing back that youthful glow.

A session starts by using the Kansa wand and working on the back of the head, neck, shoulders and back, all the way down to the bottom of the shoulder blades, focusing on the areas where stress is held.  This releases the muscles and allows the stress to leave those areas.  It is gentle, avoiding “digging” into tight, knotted areas.    Relaxing the whole head provides much better results than working on the face alone.  Once the back of the head and shoulders are done, you turn over and I work your whole face   using the Kansa wand.  With gentle circles and strokes it soothes away tiny lines, melts away the stress around the eyes, relaxes the jaw muscles, releases the tension in the temples and promotes circulation in the entire face.  Using natural Jojoba wax, which is the closest thing to our own skins sebum, the face is rejuvenated.

There are testimonials that claim relief from migraines, diabetic neuropathy, and allergies.  Though I make no such claims, what I can promise is a safe tool for wellness and overall vitality.

Ayurveda is a healing art that has remained a living tradition for at least 2500-3000 years.  Though discoveries are being made that suggest it could be much older.

Kansa is the Sanskrit word for Bronze.  Bronze is a combination of 80% copper, 10-20% Tin with a trace of Zinc and is known in India as the “Healing Metal.”

There are 4 goals of Ayurveda:

  1. To use simple, heartfelt, hands-on techniques to bring about a better integration of mind and body.
  2. To provide the perfect touch that will release the flow of subtle, physical and mental energy to restore natural balance and give a lasting sense of relaxation.
  3. To help clients experience the deep pleasures of a healthy body, clear mind and balanced lifestyle.
  4. To teach lasting beauty and well-being comes from feeling inspired to extend love and kindness to those close to us, our community, our nation and our planet.

I believe Ayurvedic body work can help change the world by changing how people feel, speak and act toward one another. Human beings are connected totally and intimately to nature, via all five great elements: SPACE, AIR, FIRE, WATER AND EARTH.  The elements combine dynamically in the body to form the doshas; Vata, Pitta and Kapha.  Everyone is a combination of 2 or 3 of the doshas.

According to Dr. Vasant Lad, “Only nature heals, we just set the stage and provide the props.”

How does the Kansa wand work?

Due to traditional bronze’s high electrical conductivity, Kansa works easily and effectively with the body’s subtle electric fields and the piezo-electricity* that runs in the collagen layer and fascia.  As it uses your body’s own natural currents, many of the side effects of other machinery, such as galvanic stimulation for pain or low current stimulation for face lifting are avoided while creating the same or similar beneficial results.

Traditionally, Kansa is said to pull Pitta or excess fieriness that has accumulated in our tissues out of the body through our skin. Some of this is because of the physical process of friction, but, it also happens at an electro-magnetic level.  The result is the pulling and drawing of heat, acidity, inflammation and toxins out of the body.  Due to the nature of piezo-electricity, and how it courses through the body, Kansa vataki was employed on the feet to draw effect heat and strain away from the eyes.  Those who work in the field can attest to seeing eyes become less bloodshot and the high skin tones normalize just by rubbing the feet with the Kansa foot wand.

*Piezo-electricity:  When piezo-electric material is placed under mechanical stress, a shifting of the positive and negative charge centers in the material takes place, which then results in an external electrical field.  When reversed, an outer electrical field either stretches or compresses the piezo-electric material

People are learning the benefits from being exposed to healthier frequencies created by gems, lights, and metals.  Modern medicine is also learning the benefits of implements primarily made of copper.  We know that copper rich surfaces are unfriendly to harmful microbes so, like gold, this precious alloy is very clean and cleansing for the skin.  In fact, copper rather than stainless steel is being used for surfaces in hospitals.  We have also learned that the micro particles of copper support healthy collagen- the material that supports good tone and vibrancy of the skin.  This explains the use of copper drinking vessels as well.

What are Marmas?

Marma points are the vital, hidden or secret energy points used in Ayurveda in a way similar to acupressure points in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).  They were discovered in a variety of ways by our ancestors through mediation and developing great inner awareness and sensitivity, as well as in combat.  As acupuncture points can be used to heal or harm, the same is true for marmas as there are marital arts in India which use the marmas in their techniques.

There are 84,000 marmas- one for every type of consciousness in the universe.  You cannot touch the body without touching a Marma of some size which is why touch is so vital to health.  There are, however, 109 marmas that are generally used therapeutically, the 108th being the whole surface of the skin.  Marmas are not physical structures. They are energy or communication centers.  I like to think of them as “eyes” that look around and inform the tissues about what is needed for health and wellbeing.  Does the skin, for example need:

  • Cleansing
  • Hydrating
  • Nourishing
  • Energy balancing.

When the “eyes” are open, then tissues are well cared for and remain more youthful. Marmas carry light energy, so open Marma points give a healthy glow.  When closed or part closed, problems can arise such as dryness, congestion, extra oiliness, sensitivities and discoloration.

Marmas are closed by:

  • Trauma
  • Emotional trauma and upset
  • Poor digestion
  • Environmental toxins.
  • Marmas are opened by:
  • Touch
  • Exercise
  • Aroma
  • South/mantra-sacred sound, music, singing
  • Color

This treatment works on all these levels including providing a safe space in which to relax and reframe traumatic memories.  The use of Kansa has a long history and I would like to highlight that any touch works on Marma points, subtle energy points.  I may pause and work on them directly like at the mid forehead and temple, or glide over them, but, whichever way they are being visited, touch is a vital tool for opening Marma energy.  So, whether you decide to do a Kansa wand foot treatment and/or the Kansa wand anti-aging facial treatment, I am very happy to offer all of its healing benefits to you.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a light-touch, whole-body treatment technique developed by John E. Upledger, which works with the body's craniosacral system to support and nourish the central nervous system - improving overall health and well-being. As a complementary method of hands-on bodywork, it works with the natural and unique rhythms of the different body systems to pinpoint and address problem sources.

Craniosacral therapy helps to alleviate the aches, pains and strains of life, improving coping mechanisms to allow for better management of stress by improving the body's ability to self-care, and can produce profound, positive changes.

Metamorphosis Reflexology

Is a therapy that can benefit everyone from birth to the elderly and the terminally ill?

Robert Saint John had great success working with children and adults with Down Syndrome, Autism, those who are Bipolar and also the mentally and physically handicapped.  Though he did not label anyone and taught that we are treating a condition but rather we are treating a person as a whole.  This therapy will benefit anyone.

A session is one hour long and involves working on the feet, hands and head.  It is gentle and non-intrusive.  The only clothing that is removed is your socks.

Metamorphosis does not claim to cure, but to allow the person to self-heal.    “Metamorphosis is not a therapy as it is self-healing. The therapist is merely acting as a catalyst, the person receiving the session is healing themselves.”

Robert Saint John started his career as a Naturopath.  Naturopathy is based on a belief that the body when given the right conditions has the capacity to heal itself.  If your mind can make you sick, then it only stands to reason that your mind can also make you well.   He then became interested in Reflex Therapy in the mid 1950’s which became known later as Reflexology.  Through observations he gleamed from working on the feet he develop Prenatal Therapy that later became known as Metamorphosis.  He believed that Reflexology worked on a physical map of the body, but there was also a psychological map where the reflex points on the feet, hands, and head corresponded to points on the spine.  Through his studies, he came to realize that the spine registered the time spent in the womb which is known as the gestation period, or trimesters.

His work teaches that at conception we inherit patterns which cause blockages that are the cause of problems throughout our lives.   Conception is one of the most traumatic things that can happen to us.  All our future characteristics and stress patterns are contains in the first cell.  From the moment of conception we are fundamentally all we are and are ever going to be.  A person carries their future characteristics and their stress patterns inherited at conception into their future life, which inhibits them from living their life to their full potential, free of unwanted habits and behaviour problems.

He also believed that a session was to involve working on the person’s feet, hands and head.

The feet are the going centres, the Hands are the doing center, and the Head, is the centre of thinking and reasoning.

By working on the feet, it would allow the person to focus on the direction they are taking in their lives.  Releasing present and past traumas and inherited blockages, and allowing them to go forward with their lives.

Working on the hands will allow them to have the ability to make the changes happen.

Working on the head allows them to make sense of the changes that are taking place during the session.

He noticed the way his client’s behaviour changed after the session.  Some taking new directions in life, others reviewing relationships and careers.  They were also not showing signs of old inhibitions and fears.   Sometimes the person did not even realise this was happening, but people around them would comment on the changes in them.  Because of the changes it made to a person’s inner being Robert Saint John concluded it was not a therapy so he renamed it Metamorphosis.  “Metamorphosis gives a person the freedom to change completely.”

Metamorphosis & Reflexology by Cindy Silverlock.

Metamorphosis is a self-healing art and a philosophy on creating greater consciousness within.  We use the concept of reflex points to address the unconscious genetic and karmic patterns that arrive at conception that create disease and disharmony in our leaves and in our collective experience.  As these patterns change we experience greater awareness, better health, genuine relationships and less conflict in life.  As we change the world around us changes.

Reflexology was very inspirational in developing the hands-on aspect of Metamorphosis.  Saint John noticed that there were many maps of the feet, all a little different, yet they all worked.  He realized that it was the intention given to the reflex points that was creating change in people.

Metamorphosis uses the spinal reflex points in relationship to the prenatal pattern as a means to address our genetic and karmic patterns that arrive at conception.  This allows one to create change on all levels.

Metamorphosis uses gentle touch.  It is an intuitive approach that involves working on the feet, hands, head and spine.

Metamorphosis by Lesley Baartman, Therapeutic Reflexology Practitioner & Workshop Presenter

Metamorphosis is a gentle approach to self-healing and personal development; a means of revisiting a time when attitudes of mind were established and allows healing to be in the hands of the client.

This metaphysical healing concept is based on the work of Robert St. John and looks at the psychological aspect of the Spinal Reflex (as described in the theories of Reflexology).

It is an understanding of the way we develop attitudes of mind during the gestation period, from conception and throughout the nine months spent in the womb as reflected along the Spinal Reflex.  Attitudes of mind formed at conception or even before could be compounded during pregnancy, affecting belief systems that shape the life postpartum.

Reflexology in Hospital

Reflexology is a safe touch therapy that is applied to the hands or the feet. There is no repositioning or undressing required. Just the removal of socks or slippers.  Multiple studies have shown that reflexology benefits patients who feel stressed, anxious, nauseous or those who have trouble sleeping. It helps relieves those suffering from oedema and reduces pain. According to Bambi Mathay, LMT and Theresa Ochenskoski, LMT who work with Dana-Farber’s Leonard P. Zakim Center for Integrative Therapies, “If patients feel more relaxed on reflexology treatment days, they may sleep better that night and have more energy the following day.”  “It just snowballs into wonderful things. When Reflexology helps with relaxation or helps with one symptom, it seems to also help improve the other symptoms.”

Reflexology has shown to provide much relief to those with cancer going through Chemotherapy and those recovering from surgeries.

When the body is relaxed it is able to heal better and faster.

Sessions length is dependent on the patient.  The maximum is 60 minutes. I work within their comfort levels.

Please feel free to discuss receiving a session with your healthcare provider.
